Agri-Solutions
Solar water pumps, irrigation, cold storage & crop dryers.
What this is
Solar applied to the parts of agriculture that consume energy: lifting water, keeping produce cold, and drying crops.
These are not one problem. A pump runs seasonally and can often accept an intermittent supply, so it can be sized against the irrigation calendar. A cold store runs continuously and cannot, so it needs either storage or a grid connection behind it. Sizing one as though it were the other is the commonest way these systems disappoint.
Where it fits
- Farms irrigating from a borewell or an open well
- Farmer producer organisations aggregating post-harvest handling
- Cold rooms and pack houses at the collection point
- Drying operations currently run on diesel or on the grid
What the work involves
- Water source assessment — head, discharge and seasonal variation
- Pump, motor and controller selection, with a VFD where the duty varies
- Array sizing against the irrigation or storage calendar rather than a peak day
- Mounting structure suited to the terrain and to theft exposure
- Cold-room envelope and refrigeration load, where storage is involved
- Commissioning, and handover to whoever will operate it daily
How every project runs
One accountable team from the first site visit to the maintenance years afterwards. Nothing is handed to a subcontractor at the seams.
