Healthcare & Rural Enterprise

24/7 solar backup for PHCs & vaccine cold chains; solar power for rural micro-enterprises.

What this is

Power for places where an outage is not an inconvenience. A primary health centre runs a cold chain measured in hours, and a laboratory mid-analysis cannot simply resume.

The engineering difference is that the load is not negotiable and the autonomy is not a comfort figure. Sizing starts from the equipment that must never stop — an ILR, a deep freezer, a delivery room — and works outward, rather than starting from the bill.

Where it fits

  • Primary health centres, sub-centres and diagnostic points
  • Facilities holding a vaccine or sample cold chain
  • Rural enterprises whose output stops when the supply does
  • Sites at the end of a long feeder, where supply is present but unreliable

What the work involves

  1. Equipment-level load survey, separating critical load from the rest
  2. Autonomy sizing against realistic outage duration, not nameplate hours
  3. Array, battery bank and solar PCU sizing as one system
  4. Distribution board separation so critical circuits are genuinely isolated
  5. Earthing, surge protection and lightning arrest
  6. Commissioning against the equipment the system exists to protect

Worth knowing

A commissioned example

The Primary Health Centre specification on the services page — array, battery bank, inverter, connected load and daily energy — is a real commissioned system rather than an illustration, and shows how the sizing above resolves in practice.

How every project runs

One accountable team from the first site visit to the maintenance years afterwards. Nothing is handed to a subcontractor at the seams.
